Thompson 1927A1 "Tommy Gun"

The Thompson Model 1927A1 is a semi-automatic reproduction of the Thompson submachine gun, aka the "Tommy Gun", "Trench Sweeper", "Chicago Typewriter", etc.

The rifle fires .45 ACP, has a 16½" barrel, and weighs 13 pounds. It comes with a 30 round stick magazine and a 50 round drum magazine.

Years ago, my brother wanted a Tommy Gun. Because of the cost and the impractical nature of the gun, he never got one. Of course, I too thought the gun would be cool to have. And then I got onto the idea of shooting a gangster film set in the 30's or 40's in a Film Noir style. I envisioned a great shot employing a Tommy Gun. I still don't have a script ready, but I am firmly convinced I want to do this. And that was enough justification for me to buy the gun.
