.300 HAM'R Upper

Plan: make a minimal investment to test a .300 HAM'R upper on my FightLite SCR. If it works, I will invest in more magazines, reloading equipment, etc.

Application: Feral hogs (130 to 150 grain bullets) and deer (110 to 135 grain bullets). Get a 1 in 15" twist.

Caliber:.300 HAM'R
Barrel:Wilson Combat 18" Tactical Hunter, Stainless Steel, Fluted, 1:15" Twist
Receiver:Aero Precision AR-15, w/o Forward Assist
BCG:FightLite SCR Bolt Carrier
Muzzle Attachment:Wilson Combat Thread Protector, 5/8"x24 .740" Black Nitride
Handguard:Boyd's "Pepper" laminated hardwood
Optic:Burris MTAC 1.5-6x42mm Riflescope w/Ballistic AR reticle
Charging Handle:Radian Raptor Ambidextrous

Barrel

I now have a Wilson Combat 18" Tactical Hunter fluted stainless steel .300 HAM'R barrel with a 1-15" twist, with a black Armor-Tuff finish.

I have also ordered a black thread protector.

Handgard/Forearm

I have ordered a mid-length laminate hardwood handguard in "pepper" from Boyd's. This matches the butt stock on the SCR lower.

Magazines

I need to get at least one magazine. Wilson Combat says any .300 BLK magazine will work.

Tools

I need one of those stupid spring forearm tools.

If I don't already have one, I should get a vice block made to hold an upper by the picatiny rail.

Do I want one of those rod things that hold onto the barrel from the lugs? Geissele AR-15 Reaction Rod.
