A simple deer hunting load. Of the bullets listed as being good for .300 HAM'R, the Sierra Pro-Hunter is described as an "extremely accurate, great all-around bullet". Sierra implies it expands well at "30-30 level velocities when loaded at or near maximum levels". This would be my first choice. With CFE BLK, I should be able to exceed 2500 fps.

For hogs, Wilson Combat recommends "Speer 130gr HAM'R HOT-COR, Speer 135gr HAM'R Bonded, Hornady 135gr FTX, or any of the 150gr loads". I have
It looks like these 135 gr. Speer bullets are only available through Wilson Combat. Who knows for how long. The Hornady FTX bullets expand at quite low velocities, and they have a cannelure. I definitely think I'll prefer them.
I already have some of these Hornady bullets, which I had gotten to try in the .30 Remington AR. It has a shorter profile with a stubbier tip, a low cannelure, and expands at lower velocities (2200-3000 fps). Hmm, I'll be lucky to get 2100 fps, though. Then again, minimal expansion might be a good thing for hogs.
