The range has changed to a poly mesh netting instead of the old rubber belting. Instead of a staple gun, I had to use clothes pins to hang my targets. Unfortunately, I had only brought enough to hang one target at a time.

At 25 yards, I loaded up the Ruger 10/22's magazine with Winchester M-22 (40 grain .22 LR, black copper plated round nose, 1255 fps). Using the ghost ring open sights, the 10-rd group was 1.75" @ 25 yards. The group was about three inches high, but I didn't have a tool to adjust the sights. I have owned this gun for nearly two years, and this is the first time I've fired it.

Still at 25 yards, I started to dial in the scope on my new Winchester Xpert rifle, using the solid "copper matrix" loads. Accuracy is what you would expect from a scoped rimfire rifle at that range: 3-rd groups touching. The velocity on those was 1815 fps, which is 65 fps faster than the manufacturer's spec.

I switched to the JHP, which is what I really want to shoot in this gun. I tweaked the windage a little. Velocity was 1620 fps, which is 120 fps over manufacturer's spec.

One thing I wanted to accomplish today was a test of my .350 Legend FightLite SCR, which hasn't been feeding correctly. Before driving down to the range, I had swapped uppers/lowers with my Bushmaster M4. For the first test, I fired six rounds of .350 Legend from that upper mounted on my Bushmaster lower. Feeding and function was fine. Then I fired five rounds of 5.56x45mm from my M4 upper on the FightLite SCR lower. Again, feeding and function was fine. Then I reassembled the .350 Legend upper onto the SCR lower and fired five rounds. Three feed failures, not counting the difficulty in getting the first round to chamber.

Conclusion: Whatever the problem is, it only happens with that specific upper and lower combination.

Finally, I moved to the 50 yard lane. I fired 10 rounds of .21 Sharp JHP at that range. The 10-rd group was just under one inch. I made one last tweak to the scope adjustment. I now consider the rifle sighted in for that ammo at 50 yards.

Also of note, this was my first time using my new Garmin Xero C1 PRO Chronograph. It was quite easy, and I'm happy with the results. I collected velocity data for everything I shot today.
